Desktop apps
Native OhRec for Mac and Windows records to a folder on this computer, with menu bar or tray controls and global shortcuts.
What the desktop app does
OhRec on Mac and Windows saves recordings as .webm files on disk. The default folder is ~/Movies/Peacae on Mac and %USERPROFILE%\Videos\Peacae on Windows — the same path used by earlier Peacae Recorder builds, so existing libraries keep working.
While you work in other apps, the menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows) can start, stop, pause, add a chapter, open the save folder, or show the app. Global shortcuts are Command/Ctrl+Shift+R to start, S to stop, P to pause, and M to add a chapter.
Recording chrome
- Clean hides the main window and keeps a control pill.
- Presenter hides the main window and can keep the on-screen bubble.
- Visible leaves the setup window on screen.
First recordings on macOS may ask for Screen Recording, Microphone, and Camera. Allow those in System Settings. Unsigned beta builds may also show a Gatekeeper warning — right-click the app and choose Open.
OhRec Studio
Studio stays in the web app. Desktop recordings are files on disk; open them in your editor of choice. Browser recordings in the library at ohrec.app can be edited in Studio without mixing with the desktop folder.
