Install and open OhRec

Download the Windows installer from the download page. Install OhRec and open the desktop app.

  • Check that the microphone and camera you want to use are connected.
  • Choose a save folder with enough free disk space.

Prepare your capture

Choose a screen, window, or webcam. Enable your microphone for narration and system audio when you need sound from other apps. Add a presenter bubble if you want your camera alongside the screen.

Make a short test recording to check framing and audio before a longer session.

Start and control recording

Start recording in OhRec. Use the floating controls to pause, resume, add a chapter, or stop. Global shortcuts let you control recording while working in another app.

Review and edit

Your completed recording is saved on disk and appears in the desktop library. Play it back or open it in Studio. Exporting an edit creates a new file and preserves the original recording.

Back up important files to another folder or drive.
