OhRec privacy and storage

How OhRec by Peacae — formerly Peacae Recorder — keeps recordings on your device and how to back them up.

Last updated August 2026

Local-first

OhRec stores recordings, OhRec Studio projects, and imported media in your browser's IndexedDB. Nothing is uploaded to Peacae or Wekify servers during normal use. This local-first approach is central to why OhRec was built — see How OhRec started.

Storage limits

Quotas depend on browser and available disk space. The library shows usage. Very long or numerous recordings may fill storage — download and delete old files when needed.

What can delete your library

  • Clearing site data for this origin
  • Private/incognito sessions when the session ends
  • Uninstalling the browser profile

Backup

Use Download on important recordings. Studio exports also create new library entries you can download separately.
